Technical description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

KVM: x86: Free kvm_cpuid_entry2 array on post-KVM_RUN KVM_SET_CPUID{,2}

Free the "struct kvm_cpuid_entry2" array on successful post-KVM_RUN

KVM_SET_CPUID{,2} to fix a memory leak, the callers of kvm_set_cpuid()

free the array only on failure.

How can CyberStrike help with CVE-2022-48764?

CyberStrike is an open-source, AI-augmented pentesting engine. Rather than flag a version number, it tests whether an issue like CVE-2022-48764 is actually reachable in your own applications and APIs, then verifies each finding before reporting it. That tells you if the weakness is a real, exploitable risk in your environment or a false positive you can safely deprioritize.
