Technical description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

xen/netback: avoid entering xenvif_rx_next_skb() with an empty rx queue

xenvif_rx_next_skb() is expecting the rx queue not being empty, but

in case the loop in xenvif_rx_action() is doing multiple iterations,

the availability of another skb in the rx queue is not being checked.

This can lead to crashes:

How can CyberStrike help with CVE-2022-49649?

CyberStrike is an open-source, AI-augmented pentesting engine. Rather than flag a version number, it tests whether an issue like CVE-2022-49649 is actually reachable in your own applications and APIs, then verifies each finding before reporting it. That tells you if the weakness is a real, exploitable risk in your environment or a false positive you can safely deprioritize.
