Technical description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

VMCI: Use threaded irqs instead of tasklets

The vmci_dispatch_dgs() tasklet function calls vmci_read_data()

which uses wait_event() resulting in invalid sleep in an atomic

context (and therefore potentially in a deadlock).

Use threaded irqs to fix this issue and completely remove usage

of tasklets.

How can CyberStrike help with CVE-2022-49759?

CyberStrike is an open-source, AI-augmented pentesting engine. Rather than flag a version number, it tests whether an issue like CVE-2022-49759 is actually reachable in your own applications and APIs, then verifies each finding before reporting it. That tells you if the weakness is a real, exploitable risk in your environment or a false positive you can safely deprioritize.
