Technical Description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

powerpc/rtas: Fix RTAS MSR[HV] handling for Cell

The semi-recent changes to MSR handling when entering RTAS (firmware)

cause crashes on IBM Cell machines. An example trace:
