Technical description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
pstore: Avoid kcore oops by vmap()ing with VM_IOREMAP
An oops can be induced by running 'cat /proc/kcore > /dev/null' on
devices using pstore with the ram backend because kmap_atomic() assumes
lowmem pages are accessible with __va().
Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address ffffff807ff2b000

How can CyberStrike help with CVE-2022-50849?
CyberStrike is an open-source, AI-augmented pentesting engine. Rather than flag a version number, it tests whether an issue like CVE-2022-50849 is actually reachable in your own applications and APIs, then verifies each finding before reporting it. That tells you if the weakness is a real, exploitable risk in your environment or a false positive you can safely deprioritize.
