Technical description

A Use After Free vulnerability in the Routing Protocol Daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an authenticated, network-based attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS).On all Junos OS and Junos Evolved platforms, if a routing-instance deactivation is triggered, and at the same time a specific SNMP request is received, a segmentation fault occurs which causes rpd to crash and restart.

How can CyberStrike help with CVE-2024-39528?

CyberStrike is an open-source, AI-augmented pentesting engine. Rather than flag a version number, it tests whether an issue like CVE-2024-39528 is actually reachable in your own applications and APIs, then verifies each finding before reporting it. That tells you if the weakness is a real, exploitable risk in your environment or a false positive you can safely deprioritize.
