Technical description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

media: i2c: ar0521: Use cansleep version of gpiod_set_value()

If we use GPIO reset from I2C port expander, we must use *_cansleep()

variant of GPIO functions.

This was not done in ar0521_power_on()/ar0521_power_off() functions.

Let's fix that.

How can CyberStrike help with CVE-2024-49961?

CyberStrike is an open-source, AI-augmented pentesting engine. Rather than flag a version number, it tests whether an issue like CVE-2024-49961 is actually reachable in your own applications and APIs, then verifies each finding before reporting it. That tells you if the weakness is a real, exploitable risk in your environment or a false positive you can safely deprioritize.
