Technical description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

drm/xe/vm: move xe_svm_init() earlier

In xe_vm_close_and_put() we need to be able to call xe_svm_fini(),

however during vm creation we can call this on the error path, before

having actually initialised the svm state, leading to various splats

followed by a fatal NPD.

How can CyberStrike help with CVE-2025-38309?

CyberStrike is an open-source, AI-augmented pentesting engine. Rather than flag a version number, it tests whether an issue like CVE-2025-38309 is actually reachable in your own applications and APIs, then verifies each finding before reporting it. That tells you if the weakness is a real, exploitable risk in your environment or a false positive you can safely deprioritize.
