Overview
CVE-2025-68798 is a known-severity vulnerability. It was published on January 13, 2026.
Technical description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
perf/x86/amd: Check event before enable to avoid GPF
On AMD machines cpuc->events[idx] can become NULL in a subtle race
condition with NMI->throttle->x86_pmu_stop().
Check event for NULL in amd_pmu_enable_all() before enable to avoid a GPF.
This appears to be an AMD only issue.
Syzkaller reported a GPF in amd_pmu_enable_all.
INFO: NMI handler (perf_event_nmi_handler) took too long to run: 13.143

Remediation
Check the references section for vendor advisories, patches, and mitigation guidance. If immediate patching is not possible, review the CVSS vector to understand the attack surface and apply compensating controls such as network segmentation or access restrictions.

Reason, not just scan
It reasons through your app's logic the way a human pentester would, so it finds flaws signature scanners miss.

How can CyberStrike help with CVE-2025-68798?
CyberStrike is an open-source, AI-augmented pentesting engine. Rather than flag a version number, it tests whether an issue like CVE-2025-68798 is actually reachable in your own applications and APIs, then verifies each finding before reporting it. That tells you if the weakness is a real, exploitable risk in your environment or a false positive you can safely deprioritize.
