Overview

CVE-2026-46331 is a high-severity vulnerability. It was published on June 16, 2026 and has a CVSS 3.1 base score of 7.8 (HIGH).

This vulnerability has a CVSS 3.1 base score of 7.8, rated HIGH. It requires local or adjacent network access to exploit. Some level of privileges is required for exploitation.

Technical description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

net/sched: fix pedit partial COW leading to page cache corruption

tcf_pedit_act() computes the COW range for skb_ensure_writable()

once before the key loop using tcfp_off_max_hint, but the hint does

not account for the runtime header offset added by typed keys. This

can leave part of the write region un-COW'd.

Fix by moving skb_ensure_writable() inside the per-key loop where

the actual write offset is known, and add overflow checking on the

offset arithmetic. For negative offsets (e.g. Ethernet header edits

at ingress), use skb_cow() to COW the headroom instead. Guard

offset_valid() against INT_MIN, where negation is undefined.

Remediation

Check the references section for vendor advisories, patches, and mitigation guidance. If immediate patching is not possible, review the CVSS vector to understand the attack surface and apply compensating controls such as network segmentation or access restrictions.

How can CyberStrike help with CVE-2026-46331?

CyberStrike is an open-source, AI-augmented pentesting engine. Rather than flag a version number, it tests whether an issue like CVE-2026-46331 is actually reachable in your own applications and APIs, then verifies each finding before reporting it. That tells you if the weakness is a real, exploitable risk in your environment or a false positive you can safely deprioritize.
