Technical description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

KVM: arm64: Take the SRCU lock for page table walks in fault injection and AT emulation

walk_s1() and kvm_walk_nested_s2() expect to be called while holding

kvm->srcu to guard against memslot changes. While this is generally

the case, __kvm_at_s12() and __kvm_find_s1_desc_level() call into the

respective walkers without taking kvm->srcu.

Fix by acquiring kvm->srcu prior to the table walk in both instances.

Remediation

Check the references section for vendor advisories, patches, and mitigation guidance. If immediate patching is not possible, review the CVSS vector to understand the attack surface and apply compensating controls such as network segmentation or access restrictions.

How can CyberStrike help with CVE-2026-53277?

CyberStrike is an open-source, AI-augmented pentesting engine. Rather than flag a version number, it tests whether an issue like CVE-2026-53277 is actually reachable in your own applications and APIs, then verifies each finding before reporting it. That tells you if the weakness is a real, exploitable risk in your environment or a false positive you can safely deprioritize.
