Technical description

In Splunk AI Toolkit versions below 6.0.0, a low-privileged user who does not hold the "admin" or "power" Splunk roles could start, stop, and configure containers, and read or modify connection and configuration data through the Representational State Transfer (REST) API. The missing authorization is possible because multiple REST API handlers in Splunk AI Toolkit do not enforce authorization checks. How can CyberStrike help with CVE-2026-76394?

CyberStrike is an open-source, AI-augmented pentesting engine. Rather than flag a version number, it tests whether an issue like CVE-2026-76394 is actually reachable in your own applications and APIs, then verifies each finding before reporting it. That tells you if the weakness is a real, exploitable risk in your environment or a false positive you can safely deprioritize.
